The Social Justice Group exists to share God’s generous love through encouraging and enabling St Edmund’s to live out a practical concern for social justice in the city of Leeds, nationally and internationally. We are passionate about campaigning against unjust structures and systems.
Our group meets quarterly to discuss and share social justice issues and topical information we can disseminate to the wider congregation.
For the past four years we played host to destitute asylum seekers who spend a week (or more) sleeping in the chancel and eating with us.
The church congregation gives groceries which are distributed to the local Food Bank, St George's Crypt, PAFRAS and the Francisan Friars.
